About Us

After working over a decade in hifi and countess record nights spent comparing various favourite albums on different formats, it quickly becomes clear that the same music sounds more real on some formats than others. Not because of the playback medium or the sound system itself… It’s the recording medium. If the playback medium is aligned to the recording medium it has the ability to bring the recording to life.

Anyone who has the facilities to playback analogue and digital recordings can try this simple test; find an album where you know the domain it was made in and play it back on analogue and digital formats to see if you can tell the difference. If you don’t yet have an hifi system, or are interested in tailoring one to your favourite music check our advice here.

How Is A Verdict Reached?

Whilst many albums are recorded using an array of both analogue and digital instruments, consoles and formats, the recordings are ultimately bounced down to one format. This format dictates the intended format for the listener, as analogue and digital formats are mastered using different techniques.
